This Hopi overlay buckle was made by Wilmer Saufkie, the son of Laurence Saufkie and the grandson of Paul Saufkie, who introduced the overlay technique to the Hopi. Wilmer and Laurence Saufkie died in an car accident 2011. The buckle shows two traditional Hopi Longhair Katchinas.
