Roy Talahaftewa Hopi Village Buckle

We met Roy first time last year at his studio at Hopi. He was very nice, showed us around and explained how he works with silver and gold and how he cuts and chooses the gemstones for his pieces of art. This custom order buckle shows a Hopi village scene with an eagle on top of a house. Roy told us, how exciting and dangerous it could be, to catch young eagles out in the wilderness.
Eagles are very important for some of the ceremonys of the Hopi. They release the birds after the ceremony.
Roy put highgrade Morenci Turquoise, Coral, Onyx and Lapis to frame the pueblo scene.
